Welcome to Lyncourt Union Free School District

Dear Lyncourt School Community,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! Whether you're a returning family or joining our district for the first time, we’re so glad to have you as part of our school community. Each new school year brings a sense of possibility, promise, and purpose—and this year is no different.

As we prepare to welcome students from UPK3 through 8th grade, I’d like to share a simple metaphor that reflects how we view our work together: a puzzle.

Many of us have sat down with a puzzle on a quiet afternoon or rainy day. And we’ve all experienced the frustration of searching for that one missing piece—the one that completes the picture. It may be under the table, lost in the box, or possibly even chewed up by the dog!

But what’s true about puzzles is also true about school communities-

Every piece is unique, and every piece is essential. Without one, the picture is incomplete.

This includes not only our students, teachers, and staff—but you, our families. Parents and caregivers are a critical piece of the puzzle. Your involvement, support, and partnership are foundational to your child’s success. Whether it’s reading at home, attending school events, communicating with teachers, or simply encouraging your child each day, your role makes a meaningful difference in the complete picture of our school community.

This year, we’ve thoughtfully structured our classrooms to reflect this spirit of collaboration and balance. From UPK to 5th grade, each grade-level team includes both a teacher new to the grade and a returning teacher. This intentional blend of fresh ideas and seasoned experience, developed by our School Improvement Team, is part of our School Comprehensive Education Plan. It allows for strong mentorship, innovation, and teamwork—ensuring that your children benefit from the best of both worlds.

We’re also excited to welcome Dr. Heidi Beverine-Curry as our new Professional Development Specialist. Dr. Curry will support our educators with job-embedded professional development focused on literacy, math, and culturally responsive teaching practices. Her work will directly enhance classroom instruction and help ensure high-quality, engaging learning experiences for every student.

At Lyncourt, we are deeply committed to Building Foundations for Lifelong Success. Our staff—teachers, support staff, and administrators—are all puzzle pieces working together to support your children academically, socially, and emotionally. But we know the puzzle isn’t complete without you. Families are our partners, and your contributions help shape a learning environment where every student can thrive.

We may be different pieces, but we share one purpose: to create a complete and supportive learning environment where every student can grow and succeed.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to a year filled with learning, partnership, and shared success.

Here’s to a great school year!

Thank you.

Best regards,
