Bell-To-Bell Device Plan
As part of an effort led by Governor Kathy Hochul to improve student focus and mental well-being, schools across New York State will be enforcing a Bell-to-Bell Device Ban. Under this new law, students will no longer be permitted to use personal internet-enabled devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, and similar technology—during the instructional day, from the first bell to the last. In accordance with the law, the Lyncourt Board Of Education approved Policy #7316: Use of Internet-Enabled Devices During The School Day.
This change is intended to reduce classroom distractions, support more engaged learning, and promote healthier, more focused school experiences for all students.
As students return in the fall, we understand that adjusting to this new policy may take some time. We are committed to helping students through this transition and will clearly communicate expectations to ensure fairness and consistency. We also encourage students to leave personal devices at home whenever possible.
If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the school office, and we will make sure your message is delivered promptly.
We appreciate your support and partnership in creating an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to principal Kimberly Davis at kdavis@lyncourtschool.org.
