Information about Influenza and Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)
March 16, 2020
In response to their continued efforts to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 virus on those most vulnerable in our communities, Onondaga County Executive, Ryan McMahon announced today all schools in Onondaga County will close today at 4:00 p.m.
Therefore, the Lyncourt UFSD will be closed to all students and evening activities effective today at 2:45 pm through at least Tuesday, Aril 14, 2020.
We recognize that this is an inconvenience to many of our families, but our primary concern is the health and wellness of all students and staff. The district has been in communication with local health department officials.
It is our hope that this closure will provide time to help stop the spread of illness. We plan to open Lyncourt UFSD on our regular schedule on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, unless there is an extension of the closure declared by Onondaga County.
I certainly recognize and understand the added challenges this closure has placed on many families in our school district, and for that I apologize. No one wanted the COVID-19 health issue to reach the level of pandemic, but it has. We will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to address this health issue and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, staff and community members through our web site, Facebook and School Messenger.
There will be a food service program implemented at Lyncourt UFSD. Please call 315-455-7571 ext. 4 or email Lisa McKenny at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information about the food service program. Additional information will also be on our website.
